As Director of Housing for Penny Lane Centers and Abbey Road, Inc., Maura M. Johnson oversees the organization’s acquisition, planning, construction and operation of high-quality, transitional and permanent affordable housing developments designed to better both the communities in which they are located and the lives of those who live there.

Since joining Penny Lane in late 2016, Ms. Johnson has worked on the closing out of a newly constructed 27 unit project, overseeing the construction and close out of two projects totaling 123 units, the acquisition, predevelopment and ongoing construction of 183 units and the acquisition, planning and predevelopment of 2 new developments totaling an additional 128 units as well as overseeing the asset management and for 2 years the resident service delivery in Abbey Road’s 286 Permanent Supportive Housing units and 26 Transitional units.

Ms. Johnson previously supervised the completion of 15 properties providing affordable, safe and aesthetically pleasing homes to more than 600 individuals and families and in two of those buildings adjoining commercial space including a big box retailer; the restoration of a cultural heritage monument into rental commercial space; the recapitalization and upgrading of 68 older affordable units; and an additional 303 new units in pre-development.

She holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from Vanderbilt University and a Bachelors degree from Holy Cross College.
