The Transitional Housing Program offers housing for youth ages 18 to 24, who are either working or in school. Many Transitional Aged Youth are emancipated foster youth. At the age of 18, these youth “age out” of the foster care system and are at high-risk of homelessness without the support of friends or family.
Through our affiliation with Penny Lane Centers, this program provides independent living skills, job/career development, emotional, and academic support so that each youth may achieve independence.
The Permanent Supportive Housing program offers residents a comprehensive and supportive program that provides stable housing with a wide array of services such as case management, transportation assistance, educational assistance, job placement, life skills training, mental and psychiatric health counseling, substance abuse counseling and treatment, and medical and dental assistance.
Abbey Road also offers affordable and low cost housing opportunities for qualified individuals and families. Our newest location in Lancaster, Imagine Village I will have 75 Permanent Supportive Housing units for homeless veterans, families, and individuals. Nearly 30% of Lancaster residents live below the poverty level (more than double the national average) and some 3,400 veterans call the City home, underscoring a critical need for this type of special needs affordable housing development – that’s why Abbey Road is now in its pre-development stage to construct Imagine Village II scheduled to be completed in Fall of 2023.
